Common Questions

  • How often should you get an eye exam?

Unless you are showing noticable signs of vision problems, doctors typically recommend getting an eye exam based off of your age:

    • Ages 20-39: Every 5 years
    • Ages 40-54: Every 2-4 years
    • Ages 55-64: Every 1-3 years.
  • How long does an eye exam take?

While the length of an eye exam is dependent on factors such the individual's unique circumstance, most patients can expect their eye exam to last between 30-45 minutes.

  • Should I wear my contacts to an eye exam?

It is a good idea to wear your contact lenses to your eye exam, especially if you would like the doctor to evaluate their fit and solution.

It is also recommended that you also bring your eyeglasses with you in the event that you are asked to take your contact lenses out during the appointment.
