We're Giving Back

Your purchase helps others in need of vision. Harvey & Lewis is partnering with two non-profit organizations and has donated over 2,000 pairs of glasses. Harvey & Lewis has also donated thousands of dollars’ worth of equipment and monetary donations in support of these various causes, all which benefit Haiti. 

Harvey & Lewis is dedicated to providing financial support, equipment, frames, and lenses, and most importantly, time, to help serve the less fortunate in need of vision.

Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation’s life-changing mission is to provide men and women who are legally blind with elite German Shepherd guide dogs, creating increased independence, safety, and mobility for all clients as they lead vibrant lives and pursue their goals and dreams.

Fidelco is an internationally accredited guide dog organization and respected expert throughout the world. For over five decades, Fidelco has bred German Shepherd working dogs and has trained and placed more than 1,500 guide dogs across North America to date. Each Fidelco German Shepherd guide dog takes two years, 15,000 hours, and $45,000 to breed, train, and place. Furthermore, Fidelco provides 24/7 client support for the entire working life of its guide dogs - typically 10 years.

Fidelco has also placed hundreds of its German Shepherd Dogs with law enforcement agencies, first responders, search and rescue, and missing child recovery organizations to help protect our fellow citizens and keep our communities safe.

Harvey & Lewis participates in the foundation’s puppy raising program and is now raising our second puppy! We have also contributed financially, raising $45,000 over two years, which has resulted in us receiving our first paw print on the wall at Fidelco! We as a company wholeheartedly believe in Fidelco’s mission. Each and every one of us is passionately devoted to the support of the Fidelco program.

Rhonda Eyes Alliance (REA) operates a complete eye care vision center in Haiti. Their team of healthcare professionals and volunteers donate their time, talent, and expertise providing training to a group of young volunteers to become optical technicians.

REA is a non-profit organization committed to providing comprehensive, quality eye care services to meet the needs of the less fortunate. Part of REA’s mission is to preserve eyesight and emphasize the importance of annual eye exams.

Along with financial support, Harvey & Lewis Opticians has also donated equipment, frames, and lenses to this amazing organization.

Shared Vision is a non-profit organization passionate about the restoration of sight for people with limited access to vision care and corrective eyewear in America and abroad.

In addition to helping those in need in the USA, they have traveled to Haiti and Honduras numerous times to provide eye exams, frames, lenses, and sunglasses to people who are without vision care.

Harvey & Lewis Opticians completes eye exams and aids with eyeglasses locally at Sanchez School in Hartford.
